Dear Disciples of Jesus across Central/Southern Illinois Synod,
At this past June’s Synod Assembly, the voting members unanimously approved the establishment of a Synod-Wide Campus Ministry Endowment Fund, together with a three-year capital campaign to fund the endowment. Now is the time!
Our REACH HIGHER! Capital Campaign for Campus Ministry kicks off the weekend of September 12/13 as we invite both communities of disciples and individual disciples to make either a one-time gift or a three-year pledge (2027-2029) to help our campus ministries both thrive and grow. We invite pledges for either one-time or three-year gifts to be made between now and the weekend of November 21/22 when we will celebrate our synod’s generosity on Commitment Weekend.
You will find everything you need to consider making either a one-time gift or a three-year pledge. Click the links below to find:
- Our complete REACH HIGHER! Capital Campaign Booklet that describes the campaign purpose and impact. We invite you to pay special attention to page 10 of the booklet which includes a chart that shows what it would take from each of our communities of disciples, based on average weekly worship attendance, to meet our campaign goal of $1,000,000.
- A printable pledge card. Completed pledge cards can be returned to your congregation on or before Commitment Weekend November 21/22 or returned directly to the synod office by that date. Completed pledge cards, together with financial gifts, can be mailed to: Central/Southern Illinois Synod, 524 S 5th St, Springfield, IL 62701
- Pledges can also be made online at CSIS-ELCA.org/cmpledge.
We invite you to read through all of the linked materials carefully. If you have any questions or would like to find out more information, please feel free to contact Bishop Busboom at or through the synod office at 217-753-7915.
The time is now to REACH HIGHER for campus ministry across our synod! Thank you for your prayerful consideration as we work together to generously share the gifts God has given us for the mission and ministry of Christ in the world!
