The Fall Theological Conference will be held Sept. 28-30 at Pere Marquette Lodge in Grafton. Our theme this year is “Reimagine, Discover, and Dream,” presented by Dr. Terri Elton, Dean of Academic Affairs and Professor of Leadership at Luther Seminary.
The cost is $370 for a single room, $295 per person for a shared room, and $145 for commuters and those who would like to camp out on the adjacent campground; retired rostered ministers receive a $50 discount on all registration types. What if it’s time to get back to the basics? How might our Lutheran theology and practices help us navigate today’s dynamic realities and lean into the particularities of our contexts? How might Lutheran Christian thinking reimagine leadership and ministry in this time?
In our time together, we will reimagine the church’s core calling, discover leadership that is faithful and dynamic, and dream about being part of a Spirit-led movement. Through practices, discussions, and reflecting on our own context, participants will be part of a community discerning how to accompany people in discovering a Christian way of life in their everyday life and claim a vision for living abundantly.
Dr. Terri Elton
Dean of Academic Affairs & Professor of Leadership, Luther Seminary
Terri Martinson Elton began teaching at Luther Seminary as an adjunct instructor in 2004 before becoming the director of the Center for Children, Youth and Family Ministry in 2008. In addition to her continued work with the Center, Elton accepted the position of associate professor of children, youth and family ministry in 2010 and associate professor of leadership in 2014.
Elton’s research and teaching interests include: congregational leadership, leading in the midst of change and conflict, helping ministry leaders craft a missional ecclesiology with an eye toward the First Third of Life, awakening a vibrant theology of baptism and vocation and reimagining faith and mission practices for children, youth, young adults and their families.
