Dear Leaders,
Now that we have concluded our Christmas celebrations, many leaders are starting to think about Lent and how we will observe this season in our communities. Pastor Tom Krieger (Grace, Springfield, and dean of the West Central Conference) has crafted a midweek Lenten series for his community based on our synod’s new Mission and Vision Statements and our synod’s five strategic priorities (view document). The first page outlines the weekly themes. The second page suggests Scripture passages that might be used to support each weekly theme. Pastor Krieger has graciously offered this resource to be shared across the synod for use in other communities of disciples as well. I lift it up to you as one option among many to consider as you plan your Lenten worship.
