Thanksgiving Meals
Some 30 years ago, a couple from one of Grace and Peace Lutheran (Peoria)’s predecessor congregations, saw a need and decided to take action. From that initial hospitality at Thanksgiving, given to people in need, with a mere peanut butter and jelly sandwich and some mashed potatoes, a legacy of service began and continues to the present. On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, Grace and Peace members and friends loaded cars with food and, using the facilities of our friends at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, provided Thanksgiving meals with all the trimmings to nearly 200 clients and staff of Peoria’s Human Service Center. This annual effort represents God’s Work — Our Hands in a powerful and heartfelt way. Thank you to all of the donors and volunteers who make this possible each year.
