Pastor Rick Hertenstein requests your prayers for Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carthage (Basco), Faith Lutheran Church, Augusta, as well as for Pastor Rick and Debbie Hertenstein, as they all recover from and deal with a fire which occurred this past Tuesday morning at approximately 2:30 a.m. at the parsonage of Immanuel.

Pastor Rick adds: "There were no injuries. Fire destroyed the attached garage and both of the vehicles. There is considerable damage to the rest of the house, The fire department response was within 15 minutes, and they fought the fire for about 3 hours. Both congregations are involved in seeking other housing for Debbie and me and the hero dog" (Brownie, who woke them at 2:30 a.m.).

Gracious God, in the midst of the disruption, loss, and vulnerability brought about by this fire, we are nevertheless grateful for the absence of injury or threat to life. May your Holy Spirit now bring peace and assurance to the Hertensteins and to Immanuel and Faith Lutheran Churches, that trusting in you, they may be restored; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
