Adult Faith Formation: Church History Survey
13th January 2024 @ 09:00 am to 13th January 2024 @ 12:00 pm
This course is open to everyone; it also fulfills course requirements for preparation for synod-authorized ministry.
What events have shaped the church as we know it today and the world in which we live? This course, Church History Surve, will take us on a journey through time to discover both triumphs and mistakes and provide the opportunity to learn their impact on the church itself.
The class will focus not only on an overview and examination of crucial historical events but include analysis and discussion that will strive to answer the questions: “What new insights have I gained about this event; how has it impacted the world I live in and my church; and what can I do with this information that will shape my ministry among God’s people?”
This course is presented by Rev. Luanne Cantrell, pastor at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris, Illinois. She has previously taught courses in church history, worship, and pastoral care as part of the Northern Illinois Synod’s Diakonia program.
