God calls us together for conducting business, learning, fellowship, and a celebration of our shared ministry. The theme for this year’s assembly is “For the Work of Ministry,” based on Ephesians 4:1-16.
- Business session: Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a break for lunch; online via Zoom
- Voter orientation: Thursday, May 28, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. via Zoom
- Registration cost: $25 per person
- Assembly business:
- Election of synod secretary
- Election of members to the Consultation Committee
- Consideration of the 2027 synod budget
- Updates to the synod constitution and by-laws
- Action on memorials and resolutions.
This year’s assembly will also feature an online Bible study on the assembly theme led by Pastor Kristen Schmid, Assistant to the Bishop for Transformational Communities.

Voting member information
All ministers rostered in the Central/Southern Illinois Synod are voting members. Synod-Authorized Ministers currently serving a community of disciples under contractual agreement are voting members.
In addition to the number of lay voting members allotted based on number of members, each community of disciples may include a voting member who is a confirmed youth or young adult (21 or younger). Please contact the synod office (, 217-753-7915) for more details.
Each voting member must register with their own email address and have an internet-connected device (smartphone, tablet, laptop) at all sessions in order to vote.
“He himself granted that some are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12).
Synod Days
Worship, fellowship, and “Spirit Labs” workshops will be held in-person later in the year as “Synod Days” in each conference:
- Aug. 23: Northwest Conference
- Aug. 29: West Central Conference
- Sept. 12: Northeast Conference
- Sept. 20: Northern Conference
- Oct. 4: East Central Conference
- Oct. 17: Southern Conference
The Synod Days are open to everyone and are NOT limited to those who participated in the assembly business day. You are also welcome to attend an event in another conference if your conference’s scheduled day conflicts with your schedule.
Each synod day will include cross-generational worship, a meal, two workshops, and a mission emphasis. Additional details and registration will come this summer.
